This policy explains what data SEOTesting collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the seotesting.com website and the SEOTesting application.
Account details. When you sign up we collect your email address and name,
which we use to run your account and contact you about the service.
Website usage. This website uses cookies to improve your browsing
experience, and we use a script provided by Google Analytics on each page to
understand how our website is used.
Session recordings. To improve the usability of our websites, we
subscribe to tools that record many elements of users’ activities on our
websites. This allows us to “play back” these sessions, almost as if we were
sitting next to you. We use this to validate our assumptions about how our
websites are used and discover where we have not done a good job of making
things intuitive. These sessions are automatically deleted as soon as we no
longer need them.
Your search data. To use SEOTesting you grant us read-only access to your
Google Search Console site properties, and optionally to your GA4 properties
and Bing Webmaster Tools account. We retrieve and store your sites’
performance data so we can provide reports, tests, and analysis.
We use your data to provide the SEOTesting service: retrieving and analysing
your search performance data, running the tests and reports you set up, and
sending you the alerts you have enabled.
We hate spam as much as you do. When you sign up to SEOTesting you subscribe
to our email newsletter, and once the service is working you will get an
email whenever Google Search Console updates. Every newsletter contains an
unsubscribe link, and you can change transactional alert settings at any time
from the Account page in SEOTesting.
Your personal details remain private and confidential. We do not sell, rent,
barter or share your personal details with third parties for their own
purposes.
You can typically set your browser to accept all or some cookies, to notify
you when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies at all. Refusing all
cookies means personalised services cannot be provided and you may not be
able to take full advantage of all of a website’s features. Refer to your
browser’s Help section for guidance on managing and deleting cookies, or
visit www.google.co.uk/goodtoknow/data-on-the-web/cookies for a video about
cookies.
Google Search Console and GA4. To use SEOTesting.com you will be required
to grant permission to Google Search Console site properties. The API
permission level required is read-only. You also have the option of
integrating SEOTesting with GA4, which requires read-only permission on the
relevant GA4 property.
Limited Use disclosure. SEOTesting.com’s use and transfer to any other
app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the
Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Data Studio connector. To use the SEOTesting.com connector for
Google Data Studio (formerly Looker Studio) you will need to grant permission
to connect on your behalf to our SEOTesting.com external data source via
Google OAuth. We use your credentials for no other purpose.
Google OAuth. Google OAuth is a registration and authentication service
provided by Google Ireland Limited and is connected to the Google network.
Personal data processed: various types of data as specified in the privacy
policy of the service. Place of processing: Ireland.
Some SEOTesting features use artificial intelligence to analyse your data and
generate suggestions — for example content quality analysis, query
generation, and performance summaries. To provide these features we send the
relevant inputs (such as the content of a page you ask us to analyse, or
excerpts of your search performance data) to OpenAI for processing via
their API.
Data sent to OpenAI through the API is not used to train their models, and is
retained by OpenAI only for a limited period for abuse monitoring in line
with their API data usage policies. We only send the data needed for the
specific feature you use, and only when you use it.
You can connect your SEOTesting account to AI assistants such as Anthropic’s
Claude using our MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. When you approve a
connection, the assistant can — at your direction — read your SEOTesting data
(websites, search performance, tests, reports) and create items such as
tests, annotations, and tracked keywords on your behalf.
Data returned to a connected assistant is processed by that assistant’s
provider (for example Anthropic) under their own privacy terms. We do not
send your data to an assistant provider except in response to requests you
make through the assistant you connected.
You can disconnect at any time from your assistant’s connector settings,
which stops all access. Connections use short-lived, rotating access tokens;
we never share your password with the assistant, and access ends immediately
if your account is closed.
We share personal data with the following processors, only as needed to run
the service:
– Google (Ireland/US) — Google Analytics on our website; Google Search
Console and Google Analytics 4 APIs (read-only, with your authorisation) to
retrieve your sites’ performance data; Google OAuth for sign-in to those
services.
– Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing. We never see or
store your full card details.
– SendGrid (Twilio) & EmailOctopus — transactional and product emails.
– OpenAI — AI-powered analysis features, as described above.
– Microsoft Bing Webmaster Tools — only if you connect it, using the API
key you provide.
We retain your account data and the search performance data we hold for your
websites for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account,
or ask us to, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we
are required to keep records for legal or accounting purposes (for example
invoices). Website session recordings are deleted automatically once no
longer needed. Authentication tokens for AI assistant connections expire
automatically and expired tokens are purged on a rolling basis.
For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights over your data (access,
correction, deletion, or export), email support@seotesting.com.
We respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
